Myth as Medicine

As a social theatre artist my approach is grounded in a social lens:

What has shaped you and inspired you? Who do you identify with on your human journey?

I developed a workshop that asks what stories shape you, inspire you. Rudolf Steiner said, “Wisdom is crystallized pain.” How does the pain in one’s life become crystallized to bear light? How can your pain be safely explored through writing your myth? Through those questions and many responses, I discovered that everyone has unique and wondrous stories.

Sharing stories through puppetry brings us to sense a refreshed and deeper meaning in our lives.

By combining studies in Child and Youth Care, Indigenous Studies, Education, Puppetry and Applied Theatre, I developed theatre practices designed with intentionality to provoke or shape social change, and worked for many organizations, theatre in education, theatre for development, youth theatre, reminiscence theatre, hospital theatre, disability theatre, work in trauma centres, mental health centres and a variety of schools and institutes to deepen this work and make it accessible for everyone.

“Through drama, spoken word and creative work, we discovered the key to unlock a meaningful destiny that lives in each human being, which slumbers if not awoken!”
